For the past 10 years, Sarah has dedicated her academic and professional careers to elevating community development initiatives. From tourism to healthcare, she is committed to pursuing ways in which we can sustainably manage the places we love while benefiting the local communities and environment.

After completing a B.A in International Development at the University of Guelph, Sarah pursued an M.A in Sustainable Leisure Management from Vancouver Island University to explore the use of travel as a tool for development. As a Queen Elizabeth || Diamond Jubilee Scholar, her research focused on building resilience in coastal communities through local participation in tourism management. She has since partnered with several non-profit organizations in Central and North America to provide transformative experiences for travelers and empower local communities.

Most recently, Sarah has been leading and supporting the implementation of provincial healthcare initiatives in British Colombia to build relationships and enhance access to care. She is a result-oriented project manager, offering a dynamic skills set of stakeholder engagement, communications, partnership development, and event execution.

Originally from Ontario, Sarah now lives on Vancouver Island and is happy to call the wild coast of British Colombia her home. When not working, you can find her skiing, fishing, caring for her chickens, and volunteering her time to restore and protect salmon habitats.
